SPEEd heads free medical mission today

The Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) in partnership with Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) are holding free medical, dental and optical missions at Kamuning Bakery Café in Quezon City.

Two successful events were held recently at the venue. The first free medical, dental and optical mission on Oct. 6 with partner Chinese General Hospital & Medical Center led by President Dr. James G. Dy, who is also known as the founder of Universal Records and Dyna Records.

Pandesal Month’s highlight was the 5th World Pandesal Day on Oct. 16, when Kamuning Bakery Café led by owner Wilson Lee Flores gave away 70,000 pandesal breads and other foods to the public with special guests Sen. Cynthia Villar, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Regal Films founder Mother Lily Y. Monteverde, Santa Klaws and 80-year-old Joaquin Roces, Jr. (grandson of the café’s first “suki” or loyal customer pre-war media tycoon and Quezon City co-founder Alejandro Roces).
