Muntinlupa lifts Bgy. Sucat lockdown as situation improves

The Muntinlupa City government has lifted the lockdown on a community in Bgy. Sucat after the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation improved in the area.

Sitio Pagkakaisa Zone 3 Interior in Sucat was initially placed under Enhanced Localized Community Quarantine
(ELCQ) from June 13 to 26. This was extended to July 3 after health officials noted an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

In a new order, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi lifted the lockdown Monday, June 29 upon the recommendation of City
Health Office chief Dr. Teresa Tuliao.

Tuliao said of the 29 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Sucat community, 14 have already recovered while the
remaining 15 are at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for isolation and treatment. All COVID-19 positive residents are recovering and their health conditions have improved. She also said the doubling time of COVID-19 cases in the area has slowed down.

During the lockdown, the CHO conducted mass testing in the community and the city government provided food
packs to families.

Fresnedi urged residents to continue observing physical distancing, wearing face masks and washing of hands.

The city government is monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Block 35 Excess Lot in Soldiers’ Hills Village in
Bgy. Putatan, the third community to be placed under lockdown until July 7. Other communities in Muntinlupa are likewise being monitored for COVID-19
cases.

As of June 29, Muntinlupa recorded 418 confirmed COVID-19 cases, an increase of eight cases from June 28. There are 279 recoveries, up by 12, and 37 deaths, leaving 102 active cases.
