Friday markets: Peso-dollar rate at P50.21; stocks decline

The peso barely recovered while the stock market declined on the l;ast day of the trading week, Friday, February 24.

The Philippine peso–US dollar exchange rate at the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEX) closed at P50.21, a slight increase from Thursday’s (February 24) rate at P50.22.

At the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reference exchange rate bulletin, the exchange rate settled at P50.23 to the greenback.

On the other hand, the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) weakened by 76.57 points (1.04%) to close at 7,258.99.

The all-shares index also dropped by 32.19 points (0.73%) at 4,395.08.
