A father and his son were killed inside their home in Caloocan City Sunday night after armed men reportedly failed to find an alleged drug personality.

The victims were identified as Juanito Labarigo, 66, and his son, Jerico, 25.

Juanito’s wife, Ligaya in an interview over GMA News said two gunmen barged into their house in Barangay 175 around 11 p.m. Sunday looking for her son-in-law identified only as “Bait.”

“Mayroon naghahanap na ganito, sabi, nandyan [ba] si Bait? Sabi ko wala dito…sabi ko bakit pati sa likod [hinahanap nyo], dyan pa kayo dumadaan [They were looking for Bait. I told them he’s not here. Then I asked them, why are you looking for him?,” she told reporters.

“Tapos maya maya, hinawi kurtina, tinutukan ako ng baril. Pumasok sila, tapos doon sa kwarto hinila yung anak ko [They pulled the curtain aside and pointed a gun at me. Then, they went inside our room and pulled my son],” she narrated.

Ligaya said she told the gunmen that the man was not Bait but her son whom they were holding but the gunmen did not listen. They shot Jerico twice.

“Nagsalita yung naka-dilaw na sabi, zero-hin na natin ito? Ayun, pinutukan, dalawang putok [The one wearing yellow told his companion, ‘should we shoot him?’ Then, they shot him twice],” Ligaya said.

The assailants were about to leave when they saw Ligaya’s husband, who was about to run.

“Sabi ng asawa ko, ‘Wag po, ‘wag po. Siguro tatangkang lalabas, di ko rin alam na may tao dito sa labas sa pinto… binaril din sya [My husband pleaded to the gunmen not to shoot him. Perhaps, they thought he was about to escape. I was not aware there was someone at the door],” she added, and heard at least two more gunshots.

Ligaya admitted she is aware of her son-in-law’s illegal drug activities but had told him to stop.
