German national main suspect in death of Filipina wife

LUCENA CITY – The body of a 75-year old Filipina was found in the early stages of decomposition inside her home in Isla Grande, Barangay Ibabang Polo in Pagbilao town on Friday, June 26.

Quezon Provincial Director Col. Audie Madrideo identified the fatality as Basilisa Crisologo Turk.

Based on a report submitted by acting Pagbilao Police Chief Maj. Reden Romasanta, his office received a call 11 p.m. Friday from Padre Burgos Police Chief Lt. Randy Buenaventura about a murder incident that reportedly happened at the victim’s residence.

According to Buenaventura, Basilisa was found dead lying on the ground beside her house.

Investigation showed that, on June 24, Basilisa informed her relatives that she and her husband Martin Carl Otto Turk, 75, a German painter, were having arguments, and that he had threatened to kill her.

After a few days, Helinda Orgalesa Crisologo, Basilisa’s sister, tried to contract her through her cell phone, but it was already unattended.

On June 26, Helinda went to Basilisa’s home where she found the victim lifeless.

Martin was arrested by tanods of Barangay Tulay Buhangin in Padre Burgos town, and was turned over to police authorities.

Among the recovered pieces of evidence found beside Basilisa’s body were a 15-inch long knife, a 21-inch long plank of wood, artificial teeth believed to be the victim’s, and her cell phone.

The suspect is currently detained at Pagbilao police custodial facility while pertinent documents are being prepared for the filing of a criminal complaint in court against him.
