Seven more frontliners from Kanlungang Palma and the University of the Philippines Health Service (UPHS) have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infected to 14.

UP Diliman said in a statement on Friday that the seven new cases have been isolated and that contact tracing is being conducted by the UPHS Public Health Unit.

It added that the UPHS will continue accepting emergency concerns and telemedicine, as well as with Kanlungang Palma with its swabbing.

“Rest assured that the UPHS and Kanlungang Palma are doing their best to contain COVID-19 and stricter measures have been taken to prevent it from spreading any further,” UP said.

Kanlungan Palma is an isolation facility at UP Diliman which houses suspect and probable cases of COVID-19 who are waiting for their test results. The isolation facility started operations in May.
