14 more COVID-19 cases recorded in Davao Region

DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health-Davao Center for Health Development (DOH-DCHD) tallied 14 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Davao region on Saturday night.

The figure doubled from the last count of seven new COVID-19 cases on June 19.

Based on its bulletin as of 5 p.m. on Saturday, 10 new COVID-19 patients were from Davao City, two from Davao de Oro, and one each from Davao del Sur, and Davao del Norte.

Davao region now has a total of 461 confirmed cases.

The youngest among the 14 new COVID-19 cases was a four-year-old boy from San Jose, Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte, while the oldest patient was a 73-year-old woman from Leon Garcia Sr., Agdao District in Davao City.

Only one of the 14 patients, a 47-year-old woman from Compostela, Davao de Oro, showed symptoms. The DOH noted that the woman had a history of exposure when she was in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, a 47-year-old male from Banaybanay, Davao Oriental recovered from COVID-19 on Saturday. The DOH Davao Region said a total of 299 people have successfully recovered from COVID-19. The disease has already claimed the lives of 31 people in the region.
