25 new COVID-19 cases registered in Caraga region

BUTUAN CITY - The regional office of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) before reported 25 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Caraga region.

In a report late Friday, June 19, DOH-CHD said Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region already has a total of 57 COVID-19 confirmed cases.

The new cases included returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and a transient from
Zamboanga del Sur.

“As of June 19, DOH Caraga records 25 new RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) confirmed
COVID-19 cases in the region,” said the DOH 13 Director Dr. Jose R. Llacuna, Jr.

Of the 25 new COVID-19 cases, 16 of were from Butuan City, two each from Buenavista town, Agusan del Norte; Prosperidad town, Agusan del Sur; and Bislig City; and one each Lingig, Surigao del Sur; and San Francisco, Agusan
del Sur.

One of those who tested positive was a health worker.

With this new development in Caraga region, the region’s DOH 13 top official assured that the new 25 cases were strictly being monitored in their assigned quarantine areas and hospitals.
