Manila Bulletin learned from the office of Chief Inspector Jovie Angot, city fire marshal, that the initial report reaching the Bureau of Fire Protection-Antipolo revealed that the blaze destroyed some 13 residential structures and a ceramic factory at Northville, Sitio Gumamela in Barangay Bagong Nayon in this city.

The fire started around 4 p.m. and was declared “fire out” after 5:30 p.m.

Rescue volunteers from nearby barangays, including Barangay San Roque, rushed to the fire scene as initial reports of missing children circulated around the affected community. The missing children, however, turned out to be safe and secure in a relative’s house.

No report of deaths related to the blaze had reached the BFP as of Wednesday night.

Residents said they suspect that the fire started from an electric fan that overheated in a neighbor’s house.
