Lal-lo, Cagayan records another COVID-19-positive case

TUGUEGARAO CITY -- Cagayan Valley Medical Center Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew reported another case of COVID-19 in Lal-lo town on June 12.

The Cagayan Information Office said the patient came from Quezon City and arrived in Lal-lo on June 9. She is a 37-year-old salesperson and resident of Logac, Lal-lo.

According to Dr. Carlos Cortina of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the woman had travel history in the affected area and  was immediately subjected to rapid testing.

To date, Cagayan province has a total of 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of whom 17 have recovered.

The Department of Health (DOH) started contact tracing through the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Cagayan Provincial Government, and Lal-lo local government to identify the patient's close contacts.

Meanwhile, after a month and a half with no COVID-19 positive case, Region 2 registered new COVID-19 patients in Echague, Isabela, and four  in Cagayan -- two from the town of Alcala and two also in Lal-lo.

In the entire Cagayan Valley region, there have been 39 confirmed cases, 33 of whom recovered and one died.
