STA. CRUZ, Laguna – Seven people got hurt and six various vehicles were damaged after a closed aluminum van plowed the latter at the national highway road intersection while waiting for a go-signal at Barangay Patimbao, Wednesday, here.
The victims and the vehicles involved were a Suzuki motorcycle driven by Rosalie Pagkalinawan, 45, a barangay health worker, and a resident of Sitio 6 Brgy. Palasan; a tricycle, driven by Celedonio Perlas, 49, his passenger Marites Laureta, 35, both residents of Brgy. Palasan; another tricycle, driven Jayson Yao, 40, and a resident of Brgy Santo Angel Sur; mountain bike of Roberto Sebastian, 65, and a resident of Sitio 6 Brgy. Patimbao; a motorcycle driven by Jennie Lour Apran, 38 and a resident of Brgy Patimbao, and a Toyota Fortuner, driven by John Bernardino, 44, Municipal employee of Santa Cruz, Laguna LGU, and a resident of Sitio 3 Brgy. Palasan all of this town.
The suspect is Crisjay Castillo Fuentes, 24, driver of an Isuzu ELF closed van aluminum truck and resident of Brgy San Roque Angono Rizal. He was arrested by the responding police, while the victims were brought to Laguna Medical Center, except Bernardino.
Around 9:30 a.m. the said vehicles were on the full stop at the intersection of the said highway heading northbound and waiting for a go-signal.
The truck was fast approaching and heading westbound of Pila town when it lost its control then swerved to the left portion and smashed the victims’ vehicles.
