CAGAYAN – Governor Manuel N. Mamba expressed concern over the growing number of Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) in the province after launching the Balik Cagayan Program.
The governor said the number has increased to 285 on June 8 from 1,789 on June 7 to 2,074. At least 867 are from the National Capital Region, 973 are from the nearby provinces while 234 are Overseas Filipino Workers.
Cagayan has recorded one asymtomatic patient who is now confined at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center for observation and further testing.
Mamba urged Municipal Health Officers to be more vigilant in monitoring returning residents in their respective areas of concern and to exert more effort especially now that the province is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
The governor wants to lessen the number of PUMs before the province be placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
Earlier he stated that he wanted the province to remain under GCQ while there is an ongoing pandemic.
