2 LSIs in Bacolod, Negros Occ. infected with COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY - The two recent confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) here and in Negros Occidental infected locally stranded individuals LSIs) from Manila and Cebu, respectively.

According to a report from the provincial government on Wednesday, the patient is a 28-year-old male from La Castellana town. He is labelled as Patient No. 13.

He arrived in the province on June 4 and is currently under quarantine in a facility. He is the second reported COVID-19 positive patient in the province this week.

The province has reported more than 2,000 persons under monitoring (PUMs), including 826 individuals who are currently isolated in different quarantine facilities.

Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19, said that a 35-year-old male from Barangay Alijis was labelled as Patient No. 19 here.

The patient arrived here on May 26, without undergoing a swab test in Manila. He underwent a real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing here while he was in quarantine.

He is currently asymptomatic with no pre-existing health condition, and has been isolated.

Tan said that investigation and contact tracing are ongoing.
