Two years since the death of Father Richmond Nilo, the Diocese of Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija still cries for justice for the brutal killing of one of their priests.

The diocese marked the second death anniversary of Nilo on Wednesday, June 10.

“Today, we commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Fr. Richmond’s brutal death,” the diocese said in a Facebook post.

“We continue to pray that justice may be rightfully served for him,” it further read.

The diocese said they will never forget Nilo who inspired them with his life and passion.

“He inspired us to love and defend our Catholic faith passionately, and to serve the poorest of the poor,” read the post.

Nilo was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on June 10, 2018, just as he was about to celebrate Mass in the chapel of Brgy. Mayamot in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.

A number of priests in the country have also been killed in 2018.

Father Mark Ventura was killed in Gattaran, Cagayan on April 29, only four months after Father Marcelito Paez was killed in Nueva Ecija.
