Anti-narcotics police have seized a total of P6.8 million worth of shabu in a Quezon City drug sting that led to the arrest of four men.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspects as Aiden “Lalate” Ombar, 19; Alinor “Akie” Logum, 22; Jabber Pangandamun, 32; and Jalalodin Jamal, 21.
The operation came after an intelligence surveillance was led by QCPD’s stations 4 and 5, and the District Intelligence Division, district director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said.
Police said they conducted the sting against the four along Quirino Highway in Barangay Pasong Putik around 5 p.m. of June 8.
Lawmen immediately arrested Ombar and Logum after they handed P300,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer, while a brief chase ensued when the two remaining suspects sensed that they were dealing with authorities and tried to escape aboard their Honda Civic service vehicle.
“This scenario resulted in a chase until the suspects were eventually cornered,” the police report said.
From the suspects, police seized five plastic sachets of shabu, one plastic ziplock containing shabu, two pieces of unsealed Chinese tea pack with words “Guanyinwang,” the boodle money, and several mobile phones believed to be used for drug transactions.
The arrested suspects were immediately detained at the police station of the QCPD pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Resisting Arrest.
