DAVAO CITY – The office of Davao City first district Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte donated on Sunday, June7, 100 sacks of rice to the city government of Mati.
Mati City Information Office head Ben Tesiorna said the donation was delivered by the staff of the congressman.
According to Duterte’s consultant James Vergara, Mati was the only recipient of rice donations from the presidential son outside of Davao City.
Mati City Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, meanwhile, thanked congressman Duterte for his generosity to the people of their city.
It can be recalled that Paolo earlier donated 100,000 facemasks, 20 thermal guns, and 1,200 rapid diagnostic test kits to Mati City alone since the start of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Tesiorna said the city government reported that 73 persons under monitoring (PUMs) were cleared Saturday, June 6.
Of the total numbers of PUMs, 45 were close contacts of a Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center (DOPMC) health worker who recently recovered from coronavirus disease(COVID-19).
Tesiorna added that of the 45 PUMs who tested negative of the virus, 35 were DOPMC staff, seven were patients and three were watchers.
“Our confirmed case remains at one. All of our COVID-19 suspect and confirmed cases are staying at the Alternate Care Site,” Tesiorna said.
He also said the city continues to observe the health guidelines under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), thus, some residents would still need relief goods.
