LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – This province recorded eight news cases of coronavirus disease (COVID19 ) on Sunday, June 7.
Four were reported by the Provincial Information Office (PIO), while the other four were confirmed by the municipal administrator of Sual, Pangasinan.
Provincial Information Officer Orphues Velasco released the details from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on the four new cases.
Those who tested positive were a 54-year old male ambulance driver, and a 53-year old male jail guard, both from Barangay Poblacion East, Agno town; a 37-year old male from Barangay Tagudin in Mabini town; and a 36-year old police officer from Barangay Poblacion, Alaminos City.
The police officer is a resident of Bani town, and because of this, Mayor Gwen Palafox-Yamamoto has placed the municipality under extreme enhanced community quarantine from June 6-9.

Kasalukuyang isinasagawa na ang malawakang contact tracing dahil frontliner ang nag positive at marami itong nakasalamuha. Nagsasagawa na din ng testing sa lahat ng napag alaman na nakasalamuha nito.Maging kalmado, sumunod sa mga utos at unawain na lahat ng pag hihigpit ay para sa inyong kaligtasan.” Yamamoto posted in her FB page.
Meanwhile, the Sual municipal government’s “Test, Trace & Treat” Program, resulted in four new positive COVID-19 cases being detected.
According to Municipal Adminstrator Phillip Adviento, those found positive were medical frontliners and returning residents which were underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests administered by the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center.
