Soldier from Indang, Cavite tests positive for COVID-19

INDANG, Cavite – Municipal health authorities here reported the fourth confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) of the town on Friday, June 5.

The latest patient was a soldier serving in the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19. The patient, whose gender was not disclosed, was assigned at Camp Aguinaldo.

The patient underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test in the morning of June 1 before coming home to Barangay Calumpang Cerca. The patient left Indang to go back to Camp Aguinaldo on the morning of June 2.

Two days later, on June 4, the result of the PCR test was released.

The patient was asymptomatic and is currently in isolation at V. Luna Memorial Hospital in Quezon City.

The local government assured the public that they were currently facilitating contract tracing measures to avoid any community transmission.
