P7.48-M shabu seized, 3 drug peddlers arrested in Laguna


LAGUNA — Joint police operatives seized a total of P7.48 million worth of shabu and arrested three drug suspects in Sta. Rosa City and Biñan City on June 3.

Colonel Serafin Petalio II, Laguna Police provincial director, identified the suspects as Samson Tan, alias Yusuf Sultan (a resident of Block 45, Lot 31, Bel-Air III, Phase 2, Brgy. Loma, Biñan City), Ansadin Kamid, and Dexter Saliek.

According to Petalio, the joint operatives of the PDEA-NCRO, PDEA IIS, AFP, RID/RDEU-4A, Sta. Rosa City police conducted the buy-bust operation at Brgy. Don Jose in Sta. Rosa City at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, which resulted in the arrest of Tan. Authorities confiscated what appears to be shabu with an estimated weight of 500 grams and an estimated street value P 3.4 million.

In the follow-up operation, the said operatives assisted by Biñan City police, armed with a search warrant issued from Judge Cynthia R. Mariño-Ricablanca, executive judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, raided the house of Tan where they also seized 600 grams of what appeared to be shabu, with an estimated value of P4.08 million, as well as assorted drug paraphernalia, suspected controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs), and an undetermined amount of money in P20-bill bundles. Kamid and Saliek were also arrested in this operation.

Criminal cases for violation of R.A. 9165 are now being prepared against the suspects. Danny Estacio
