Cops seize shabu worth P2 million during a drug sting in Sta. Barbara town, Iloilo province. (RDEU-6)
This is the street value of the 213 grams seized by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU-6) and the Regional Intelligence Division (RID-6) of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) in a June 3 buy-bust operation at a rented home in Balabag village.
PRO-6 acting spokesman Lt. Col. Gilbert Gorero said those arrested during the drug sting were Jan Herbert Roxas, Hersky Cabarlo, Rudini Arabacan, and Roseler Villalba, all from Capiz province. Roxas has been identified as a street-level drug target by local authorities.
Initially, the four only sold a sachet of shabu for P2,000 to an undercover cop. But seized from their possession 17 other sachets of shabu.
The suspects are facing charges of violating Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO-6 Director Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan lauded the successful operation even as police personnel in the region are enforcing government measures against the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“We will continue our relentless operation against illegal drugs amid the pandemic until we have arrested and jailed the last illegal drug dealer or pusher here in Western Visayas,” said Pamuspusan.
