Cavite COVID-19 cases now at 370

IMUS CITY, Cavite — Seven new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were recorded lately in Cavite, which brought the total case numbers in the province to 370.

The city government of Bacoor reported that the case total in its jurisdiction was now 127 with the three cases that have been added to its list last Tuesday, June 2.

The latest Cavite Case Tracker update report showed that Magallanes, in the eighth district, remained COVID-19-free and that its neighboring municipality, General Emilio Aguinaldo (GEA)-Bailen, had recorded one case lately. GEA-Bailen now has two cases with the first one reported last May 15.

The 6th District (General Trias) Board Member Kerby Javier Salazar posted the Cavite Case Tracker update in his Facebook page that was derived from the report of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) as of 4 p.m. June 2. The tracker report revealed that Cavite province now has a total of 370 cases, with 30 deaths and 133 recoveries, and 155 probable, 6,228 suspect, and 3,007 negative cases.

In her Facebook post, Mayor Jasmin Maligaya-Bautista confirmed that Magallanes has no positive case, zero-probable, and 31 suspect cases. At least one of the 32 suspect cases reported earlier was tested negative lately, Bautista said. The Rural Health Unit of GEA-Bailen identified the latest case reported in the municipality as a 43-year-old woman, an asymptomatic, from Barangay Castaños Cerca.

The case tracker revealed that prime tourist destination Tagaytay City, neighboring municipality Mendez-Nuñez and GEA-Bailen, all in upland eighth district, has the least cases with two each.

The Bacoor government, which has been reporting the cases constantly with its own case advisory bulletin, said that the city or district has 127 confirmed cases, with 11 deaths and 71 recoveries, and 45 active cases with 32 probable and 35 suspect cases.

The city health office identified the three new cases as Patients #125, a woman, aged 40, from Barangay San Nicolas I; #126, a 43-year-old man from Molino IV; and #127, a 37-year-old woman from Zapote V.

The latest three new recovery cases were identified as Patients #77, a 25-year-old woman from Molino III, #79, an 18-year-old boy, and #86, a 23-year-old man, both from Mambog III.

Based on reports, Bacoor has the highest number of cases in Cavite province followed by the neighboring city or district of Dasmariñas with 64 positive cases and 162 suspect cases.
