Bacoor City inaugurates new COVID-19 isolation facility

BACOOR CITY, Cavite - The city government here inaugurated on Wednesday an additional isolation facility to be used by the local government in its ffort to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The blessing and turnover ceremony was led by Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla, DOH Regional Director Dr. Eduardo Janairo, and STRH Director Dr. Ephraim Rubiano.

The 20-bed capacity Ligtas COVID-19 Center consists of container rooms erected in front of the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital (STRH). It will accommodate mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.

The air conditioned container rooms were built through a collaboration between the city government and donors from Future Home Co., Ltd., Almextech Inc., and Jesus V. Del Rosario Foundation Inc.

Also inaugurated were the renovated Cavite Mayors League Building and a newly-constructed covered court.

As of June 2, the city has recorded 127 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 71 recoveries and 11 mortalities.
