A barangay hall in Pasig City has been closed after an official tested positive for COVID-19.
In a late night post on Mayor Vico Sotto's Facebook page, he said the barangay hall of Barangay Sto. Tomas was closed to allow its officials and employees to undergo quarantine.
He said that for those who are acquiring a barangay clearance and have other immediate concerns with the office, they may go directly to the Office of the City Administrator at the Pasig City Hall.
Those who were in close contact with the official will have to undergo a PCR test to ensure their safety, Sotto said.
He urged the people not to panic and said that he and other barangay officials only did what was necessary so that everyone can be quarantined and tested.
Residents are reminded to stay home and if they really need to go out, should wear face masks, observe social distancing, and practice proper handwashing.
