P11M cash assistance turned over to Las Piñas School Division

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar turned over the P11-million cash assistance to the Las Piñas School Division to be distributed to about 11,000 public school students who graduated for the school year 2019-2020.

Acting Las Pinas City School Division Superintendent Dr. Joel Torrecampo personally received the P11-million financial assistance from Aguilar yesterday, June 1.

"Ngayong araw po, June 2,2020 ay pinapakuha ko na sa mga principals ang cash aids ng mga nasasakupang graduates para sa pagsisimula ng pamamahagi sa darating na Huwebes,June 4,2020,"(I already told principals to get the cash aids and start the distribution this coming Thursday (June 4) to all students who graduated this school year),” Dr. Torrecampo said.

Each student will be receiving P1,000 financial assistance and a congratulatory letter coming from former Mayor Vergel Aguilar.

"Walang pinakamagandang regalo sa ating kabataan kundi edukasyon. Gusto ko lang makatulong sa mamamayan ng Las Pinas," (Education is the best gift that we can give to our children and I want to help our city residents of Las Pinas), according to the former mayor.

Aside from students who graduated from public schools, the students who graduated from elementary and senior high school at the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College (DFCAM) will also receive financial cash assistance.

"Ang financial aid ay para makatulong sa mga graduating students at kanilang magulang na apektado ng krisis (The financial aid I am giving is to help the students as well as their parents because of the crisis),” the former mayor stressed.

Data showed that a total of 8,401 students graduated from elementary: 2,173 for senior high school and 284 graduates from DFCAM.
