Pasay City residents are reminded that the city's market day scheme will still continue even as Metro Manila shifts to the general community quarantine (GCQ) on June 1.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said this was done to avoid crowded marketplaces and to allow everyone to get a chance to buy necessities.
She said that those who will go to the markets will no longer be required to present a quarantine pass. Instead, they need to bring IDs or a barangay certification.
The city said the following guidelines are still to be observed in the markets: social distancing (a distance of no lower than one meter), wearing of face masks, use of alcohol or sanitizers, and temperature checks.
The local government also added that persons below 20 years old will not be allowed inside the market, while senior citizens are urged to ask other persons to purchase goods for them.
As for the schedule, Barangays 1 to 40, Barangays 68 to 92, Barangays 145 to 157, Barangay 183, and Barangays 187 to 201 can shop on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.
Barangays 41 to 67, Barangays 93 to 144, Barangays 158 to 182, and Barangays 184 to 156 can go to markets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Sundays will be allotted for frontliners and buyers from outside the city. The markets are open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
