The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reminded the public that the month of June is recognized as “National ICT Month.”
In a Facebook post on Monday, June 1, the DICT said that under Proclamation No. 1521, series 2008, government recognized the vital role that information communications technology plays in nation-building.
“We invite everyone to explore various ICT opportunities and better understand the role of ICT in our emerging economy through our various upcoming online activities,” part of the FB post read.
This year’s theme is “Maximizing ICT in the new normal.”
The DICT will have online activities lined-up for the celebration of National ICT Month.
The government agency, throughout the lock down period, has been providing free webinars for netizens.
It is also providing free training for teachers and school personnel who will be tasked to conduct classes and other school activities online as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).
