CARMONA, Cavite – A messenger residing in Dasmariñas City will now be able to report back to work in Pasay on Monday, June 1, thanks to a generous stranger who gifted him with a bicycle.
Danijo Aldave, who usually takes the bus from Dasmariñas to Pasay, has not been able to go to work since the implementation of community quarantine amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Looking for a way to report back to work despite the halt in public transportation, he posted a query about bicycle price rates on a Facebook group earlier this week.
He then received a private message from Elizur Orejola, who arranged to get his own bicycle transported from his residence in Pasig to Aldave’s home in Dasmariñas.
According to Orejola, the bicycle was precious to him, but he wanted to give it to someone who needed it more.
“It was my way of boosting his dignity. He sounded hopeless and he needed a bike,” Orejola told The Manila Bulletin. It’s nice to be kind to someone you don’t know.”
Aldave couldn’t be more grateful for experiencing kindness from a stranger.
