He said all positive patients were employees of the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital.

"We assure all Digoseños that our City Health Office is in close coordination with the hospital administration," he said.

Cagas said contact tracing has already begun, even before the confirmatory results came out.

He said the families and relatives, who were in close contact of these persons, are now being subjected to strict quarantine.

" We encourage all Digoseños not to panic but to be careful at all times. Let us always practice social distancing, hand washing and wearing of face mask. Also, let us not forget to pray, for God is the best healer," he said.

Meanwhile, the municipal government of Magsaysay in Davao del Sur has ordered its residents to refrain from travelling going to its capital Digos City.

In a statement, Magsaysay Information Officer Anthony Allada said Mayor Arthur Davin sad has been compelled to issue an urgent advisory for immediate precautionary measure.

Allada said if the residents will insist in going to Digos, they will be made to undergo a 14-day quarantine at the Magsaysay Border Quarantine Center upon arrival at Barayong Checkpoint.

The information officer said based on the information he obtained seven from the infected persons were from Digos City, one each from the municipalities of Sulop and Hagonoy and another one from Davao City.

The advisory may be lifted any time soon upon the recommendation of the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force especially if the contamination was traced.
