PLDT announced on Friday that an investigation showed there is no record of customer data download or exfiltration after its customer service official Twitter account was hacked.

“We would like to inform the public that a thorough investigation conducted by our Cyber Security Operations group has shown that there is no record of customer data download or exfiltration from the @PLDT_Cares Twitter account,” it said in a statement.

PLDT said it will submit the findings to the National Privacy Commission as well.

“We will continue to fortify and enhance our cybersecurity protocols to prevent incidents like this from happening again in the future,” it added.

The hackers replaced PLDT’s account name with “PLDT Doesn’t Care,” riffing off their Twitter handle @PLDT_Cares on Thursday (May 28).

After some time, the hack was fixed and the account’s username was returned to normal.
