Painter dies after falling from building in Cavite

IMUS CITY, Cavite – A 39-year-old painter died on Thursday after he accidentally fell from a two-storey building in Barangay Salaban, Amadeo, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported on Friday, May 29.

Samuel Lumuntad Anacta, a native of Eastern Samar, and resident of Phase III, Barangay Burol, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Tagaytay.

The Amadeo police said the accident happened as Anacta was scaling the building to repaint the roof.

The fall happened at 8 a.m. Thursday at the dormitory building of the Dom Geraldo Children Center and Formation Center.

The Amadeo police said that the victim had climbed onto the roof without any safety gear.

Sergeant Jon-Jon D. Pilapil, officer-on-case, reported that the Amadeo Rescue Team brought the victim to the hospital but he was pronounced dead by an attending doctor.

The fall was reported to the police by Barangay Salaban Councilor Noel Advincula.
