vivo donates smartphones for medical front-liners in mega swabbing facility

Mega Swabbing Facility

vivo has donated smartphone handsets to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) which is overseeing the conversion of existing venues and structures into quarantine facilities, swabbing centers, and isolation areas to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Charisma Buan, vivo PR lead turned over the handsets to Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, Committee Chairperson of DPWH’s Build, Build, Build infrastructure program. The units will be used by medical frontliners tasked to conduct COVID-19 mass testing on returning overseas Filipino workers at the Palacio de Maynila mega swabbing center along Roxas Boulevard.

“We are pleased to contribute in our own way to the government’s efforts to detect COVID-19 cases. Our donation will help establish a means of communications among teams of frontliners in the mega swabbing facility and even with their families,” Buan said.

The donation was facilitated by Manila Bulletin TechNews editor Art Samaniego who has been contacting and encouraging technology companies to contribute their resources and other necessities towards helping mass testing and treatment operations in mega swabbing facilities and hospitals. (Edgard Hilario)
