In an interview Wednesday over GMA-7’s Dobol B sa News TV, LPP president Marinduque Governor Presbitero Velasco said: “Medyo sumama po ang loob ng maraming local government officials. (Many local government officials were a bit hurt by the comment).”
Velasco was referring to the comment made by Dr. Minguita Padilla.
Padilla reportedly made the comment during a televised meeting with President Duterte and the Interagency Task Force (IATF).
“That’s why I think — I think it’s ignorance only on the part of the LGUs eh. They don’t understand you know,” reportedly said.
Padilla is spearheading Project ARK (Antibody Rapid Test Kit) which is a private sector initiative which aims to promote mass testing.
After the comment though, Padilla even offered to give a lecture on the matter, through Zoom, for LGUs to be more informed about it.
Velasco, in a previous interview asked the Department of Health (DOH) to ensure that patients coming from quarantine facilities are indeed negative for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) before allowing them to return home.
