Returning Cagayanos apply for border passes

CAGAYAN – A total of 1,103 stranded Cagayanos has applied for “Balik Cagayan” provincial border passes through online application.

This was disclosed by Michael Pinto, head of the Technical Working Group of the program.

According to Pinto, many of the Cagayanons who wanted to return to the province were from Tuguegarao with 173 applicants. The other places with considerable number of request for border passes were Aparri, Lasam, Baggao, Solana and Buguey.

Meanwhile, 487 of those who are still stranded outside the region were asking for transport service to ferry them back to Cagayan.

The Local Government Unit had established iys own hotline number so that stranded individuals could coordinate with them, and the necessary assistance could be extended to them.

Earlier, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba advised that those planning to come home to Cagayan province could obtain provincial border passes through online.

He reiterated that no one will be allowed entry into Cagayan without the border pass. Only those with Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) will be allowed entry.
