IMUS CITY, Cavite – Officials and residents of this city, which is the capital of Cavite province, will be commemorating the 122nd National Flag Day on May 28 with the so-called E-Wagayway Festival-Flashback.
The city administration thought of the holding E-Wagayway Festival or the online 2020 commemoration with views depicting flashbacks of past Flag Day events in the area.
The electronic-view commemoration was set due to the prevailing coronavirus disease 2020 (COVID-19) crisis.
The move was made in consonance with the measures set under the May 15 to 31 general community quarantine (GCQ) implemented in Cavite which prohibits, among others, mass gatherings or any crowd-drawing activities.
Local officials and some residents, including frontliners and office workers, were featured in a video, reminding the public about the commemoration of National Flag day, and with each of them waving a miniature Philippine flag while saying: “Wagayway 2020 na.”
The video and the festival-flashbacks can be viewed on the Facebook page of the Imus City Tourism Office.
