DFA reports 1 new COVID-19 case among overseas Filipinos; 1 recovery, 3 deaths

The latest coronavirus disease (COVID-19) tally among Filipinos abroad has recorded one new confirmed case, three new deaths, and one recovery, all in Europe and the Middle East regions, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Sunday (May 24).

The latest figures bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos to 2,523 as of May 24.

Of the total, 1,350 are live cases or patients still undergoing treatment, 879 have recovered, and 294 died of the disease.

The DFA noted that no new reports were received from the Americas and Asia and the Pacific.

Among the regions, Europe still accounts for the biggest number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos with 785, followed by the Middle East and Africa, 720; the Americas, 560; and Asia and the Pacific, 458.
