The Las Pinas City government yesterday approved the subsidy for online education of about 2,000 scholars of the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Pinas (DFCAMLP).

According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the city government allotted about P4.5 million to support the students and faculty members of the said school under the Blended Learning Program.
The memorandum of agreement was signed by Aguilar together with PayMaya Philippine, Inc. chief operating officer Paolo Azzola and DFCAMLP officer-in-charge Eugenia Guerra.
Aguilar said that DFCAMLP is one of the beneficiaries for subsidy of the 27 colleges and universities in the country.
“The cash subsidy given to our scholars in the said school will be for their internet and other learning materials for their online learning while the country is facing crisis due to the corona virus pandemic,” Aguilar said.
The mayor explained that under the MOA, the financial assistance will be given to the students through the PayMaya card.
Aguilar said that the requirements set by the PayMaya, each students should have their own mobile phone and sim card of each students of the said school.
