COTABATO CITY — Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested on May 21, Wednesday, a couple and their cohort who yielded some P700,000 worth of illegal drugs during an entrapment operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat Maguindanao.
Juvenal Azurin, PDEA regional director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified the suspects as Sedik Bagundang, 24, his wife Maimona Bagundang, 24, and their cohort, Mohaliden Piki, 20. They were nabbed in an entrapment operation conducted by PDEA agents backed by soldiers and policemen along the national highway in Awang, Maguindanao.
Azurin said the suspects yielded some 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P700,000, motorcycle, and several cellular phones during the drug bust. He said the suspects are known drug traffickers operating in the province.
Charges for selling prohibited drugs have been filed against the suspects who are presently detained at the PDEA detention facility in the city.
