Teenage-girl tests positive for COVID-19 in Pangasinan

PANGASINAN – A 15-year-old girl from Asingan town tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Sunday, the second day since the province was downgraded to a less restrictive general community quarantine (GCQ).

The Department of Health–Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 1 ) said the patient was exposed to a COVID-19 positive townmate, a 29-year-old male, last Wednesday.

Her illness started on May 7, and she sought medical consultation on May 13. Her positive confirmatory result came out on May 17. She is now under strict home quarantine.

Since day one of the lockdown, the total confirmed cases in the province has reached 41, with 30 recoveries, nine deaths, while two are still in the hospital.

Of the total number, 10 are from the city of Dagupan which is now COVID-19 free when four of its remaining confirmed cases were discharge from the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC). Three of the four COVID-19 cases were medical frontliners of R1MC.

The province has a total of 418 patients classified under suspect, with 314 recoveries, 19 confined, while 85 died with negative results of the disease.

The possible COVID-19 cases reached 99,310 wherein 97.78 of them have completed quarantine. At least 1,758 of them are still under 14-day quarantine while 449 have not completed their quarantine.
