The Philippine National Police (PNP) has activated a unit that will take charge of the recruitment of new policemen and the lateral entry for technical and line officers.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said that the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PRS) will also be tasked to manage the cadetship program of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

“The creation of PRS will institutionalize a systematic recruitment process for the most qualified men and women who will join the police service,” said Gamboa

"As the PNP is recruiting new police officers, we are proud to say that the organization is offering one of the highest paying entry level position jobs in the country," he added.

Gamboa named Col. Ma. Leonora C Camarao, a lawyer, as the designated Director of the newly activated PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PRS).

PRS is now a national administrative support unit under the functional supervision of the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management (DPRM) for the rigid process of selecting and recruiting aspiring policemen and cadets who will heed the call of public service.

The newly-established service hub will be under the supervision of the DPRM.

Gamboa also invited young men and women to consider what he describes as a promising career in the police service.

Interested parties who want to be part of the 205,000-strong PNP family, he said, may visit the PNP Online Recruitment Application System (ORAS) portal at www.pnporas.pnp-dprm.com for more details.
