Murder suspect killed while resisting arrest

TACLOBAN City – A farmer wanted for murder in Borongan City, Eastern Samar was killed by police while being served with a warrant of arrest last Wednesday.

The accused was identified as Lemy Galve, a resident of Barangay San Andres Upper, Borongan City.

Initial investigation showed that operatives of the Borongan City Police Station, Eastern Samar Provincial Police Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Eastern Samar, the 78th Army Infantry Battalion, and 2nd Eastern Samar Provincial Moblie Force Company went to the house of the accused to serve a warrant of arrest for murder issued in May 2019.

Upon arrival at Galve's house, one of the cops identified himself as a lawman but the suspect pointed a gun at the arresting team, forcing a police officer to fire his service pistol twice to neutralize him.

Police recovered from Galve's possession a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with five live ammunition, and two fired cartridge of calibre 9mm.

The suspect’s body was brought to the Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital for post mortem examination.
