The Philippine Collegian in a Facebook post Tuesday said that Palma Hall officially began operations Monday (May 11).

The said building inside the UPD campus in Quezon City earned the nod of the Department of Health (DOH) after weeks of preparation by the UPD administration.

It can potentially house 50 suspected and probable cases of COVID-19.

To protect the security guards and personnel of the said building, face shields were distributed according to a Facebook post by the UPD-College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

The conversion of the said building to a quarantine facility was also made possible by the efforts of volunteer group Act as One PH.

The group has been reportedly helping the UPD administration complete the quarantine facility requirements set by the DOH.
