Over 4,000 families from two barangays in Taguig City each received cash assistance under the city’s own amelioration program.
Families from Barangay Fort Bonifacio and Barangay Tuktukan were given the cash aid worth P4,000 on Tuesday after financial assistance was earlier provided for residents in Barangay San Miguel.
Members of the local government are currently going around barangays for the Taguig Amelioration Program TAP. The city aims to distribute the financial aid to all its beneficiaries by May 15. The distribution of the Social Amelioration Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also continues alongside TAP.
Mayor Lino Cayetano earlier said that over 92,000 families in the city will be part of the SAP, while 10,000 other families will be part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
On the other hand, the 270,000 families who are not part of the amelioration program of the national government will receive cash assistance under the Taguig Amelioration Program.
Only those families in Taguig City who will not be eligible for SAP will be receiving P4,000 from the local government under the Taguig Amelioration Program. The first who will be given the cash aid are those listed in the Taguig City Integrated Survey System (TCISS).The TCISS is a list of all Taguig families who were interviewed by its enumerators.
If the family is not listed, a form will be given to be filled out on the day of the distribution of cash aid. Once it has been evaluated that the family is from Taguig, they will receive P4,000. Residents are advised to wait for announcements on the schedule of distribution in their respective barangays.
