Mandaluyong locks down Welfareville for COVID-19 surveillance

Mandaluyong City will be testing over 3,000 residents during its total lockdown of the entire Welfareville Compound in Barangay Addition Hills, in order to enhance the city’s COVID -19 disease surveillance and containment measures.

All residents who yield positive results shall undergo a confirmatory PCR-test and placed in a government isolation facility. All persons entering or exiting Welfareville shall be subjected to temperature checks.

Those exhibiting symptoms shall be immediately referred for medical attention. The City Health Department or other appropriate health authority shall supervise the decontamination of persons going in or out of Welfareville.

The lockdown will be from 12:00 a.m. on May 7, 2020, until 11:59 PM of May 13, 2020.

According to the executive order released on Wednesday, all residents of Welfareville are mandated to stay inside their homes and are prohibited from going out, except for urgent medical emergencies, and except for the Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR), provided, that they present a valid ID as proof of their employment.
