Filipinos in Italy donate blood in fight against the pandemic

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said that at least 30 Filipinos in Rome, Italy donated blood to help fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The blood donation drive, according to the DFA, was organized by the Associazone di Donatori Volontari di Sangue La Rette di Tutti (La Rete di Tutti OdV) with the help of iPARAMEDICI.

iPARAMEDICI is an organization founded by Dindo Malanyaon and is composed mainly of Rome-based Filipinos.

Felice Di lorio, president of La Rete di Tutti OdV expressed his gratitude to the Filipino community in Italy through Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo Nolasco, a post on the Philippine Embassy in Italy’s offical Facebook page said.

According to the Facebook post La Rete di Tutti OdV has been working with iPARAMEDICI for nine years now on projects like this one.

Di lorio also coveyed the message that the donation that the Filipinos gave will be a huge help in the Italian government’s efforts to fight the coronavirus disease 2019.

Italy is one the countries most affected by the pandemic.
