The national monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in Luneta Park was illuminated in blue lights on Monday night to honor the country’s frontliners battling against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

A video showing the Rizal monument lit up in blue was posted on the official page of the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC).

“Our national monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in Luneta is lit up in blue as we stand in solidarity with our frontliners, our heroes,” NPDC said in a post.

The nation’s health workers are in the frontlines in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

“We thank you for your bravery and courage. Mabuhay kayo! #wehealasone,” it added.

Luneta Park is closed to the public until further notice.
