CIDG turns over seized alcohol, masks to medical frontliners in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Bacolod turned over alcohol and face masks to the City and Provincial Health Offices for use of their frontliners in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Chief Master Sgt. Ramiro Gocotano, officer-in-charge of CIDG-Bacolod, the medical items were confiscated in series of operations here and in Negros Occidental against persons who violated the Republic Act (RA) 7581 or the Price Act.

Gocotano said 48 containers filled with 18 liters of Ethyl alcohol, and nine containers filled with six liters of alcohol were turned over to the Provincial Health Office. It was received by Dr. Ernell D. Tumimbang, Provincial Health Officer.

Another 59 liters of alcohol and 90 surgical masks were also turned over to the City Health Office. The medical items were received by Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli, City Health Officer.

Gocotano said that the turnover of the confiscated medical items was in compliance with the directives of the higher office.
