11-month old baby girl in Albay tests positive for COVID-19

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – An eleven-month-old baby girl was the newest patient who reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Albay.

Based on the latest COVID-19 tracker of the Department of Health (DOH) Bicol, the patient was the 40th confirmed case in Bicol region, and the 31st case in the province of Albay.

DOH Bicol Regional Director Dr. Ernie Vera said that the patient was from Ligao City, that she was currently admitted at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH).

“A family member has travel history outside the Region. Bicol#40 manifested symptoms on April 20. Bicol#40 is the youngest patient in the region as of this time,” Vera said.

Meanwhile, Vera disclosed that, as of April 30, the region had a total of 42 confirmed cases after recording three new cases on Thursday evening.

Vera said that the 41st confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol was a 45-year old Filipina health worker from Legazpi City.

“She first experienced symptoms on April 25, and consulted with the BRTTH on April 29,” Vera said.

Bicol#42 was also a 39-year old health worker from Daraga, Albay.

“Patient is asymptomatic and consulted at BRTTH on April 29,” he said.
