Fr. De Guzman does not have any parish assignment at the moment after taking a study leave due to the Bar exams.

While Fr. Bacatan is currently assigned at Don Bosco Dumangas in Iloilo province. Before his Iloilo assignment, he served as administrator at the Don Bosco Technical College in Labangon, Cebu City.

According to a CBCP News post, Bacatan is said to be the first Filipino Salesian civil lawyer.

To recall, in the 2017 Bar examinations, two priests were also among those who passed.

The CBCP identified them as Fr. Romeo Dawaton of the Apostolic Vicariate of Tabuk and Fr. Efren Bugayong of the Imus diocese.

Bugayong, a doctor in Canon law, and Dawaton were serving as chancellors in their respective dioceses at that time.

More than 2,000 passed last year’s Bar exams held at the University of Santo Tomas out of the 7,685 examinees.
