Fifty teachers from the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College in Las Piñas City were asked by the city government to help in the distribution of the P8,000 cash aid to about 67,738 beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said that the support of the 50 teachers from DFCAM to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) is a big help in fast-tracking the distribution of the SAP to qualified beneficiaries.
Aguilar said the city government tapped the 50 teachers to help in the distribution after the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) NCR ordered all local government units to finish the distribution within the week.
In an interview with the chief of the CSWD, Junet Barilla, she said that as of April 29, about 5,000 beneficiaries out of 67,738 already received their P8,000 cash-aid.
Barilla said that they have already finished the distribution of cash-aid to qualified beneficiaries in Barangay Ilaya.
She added that the distribution of the cash-aid is still ongoing in District I barangays in Manuyo Uno and Dos, E. Aldana, CAA, Pulanglupa Uno, and Zapote.
The CSWD chief said the distribution under District II in barangays Almanza Uno and Dos, Pamplona Dos, Pilar, Talon Tres, Kuatro, and Singo is also ongoing.
Barilla said that they will try to finish the distribution of cash aid within the week and and may extend until Sunday.
In case they fail to finish the distribution this week, Barilla said they already prepared a letter of appeal to the DSWD-NCR to give them up to the first week of May to finish with the distribution.
