The Las Pinas City government told city residents who have symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to immediately coordinate with local health centers in their barangays.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the City Health Office came out with a public advisory that must be followed to help residents who have symptoms of the virus.

The City Health Office issued seven steps to follow. First is to call the COVID-19 hotline number at 8994-5782. For Globe users, they can call 0977-6726211, and for Smart users, they can call 0949-6246824.

The second step is to bring the patient to a local health center located in the barangay where they live; third, a local health officer will conduct an assessment and evaluation with regard to the patient’s health condition; fourth, the health center will give referral to the patient if he or she needs to undergo testing or swabbing before bringing to any hospital.

The fifth step is the City Health Office will issue a recommendation whether a patient needs to undergo home quarantine or will be brought to an isolation facility, depending whether the symptom is moderate or severe; sixth, if the patient is under home quarantine, the barangay health response team will conduct the monitoring, while those placed at the isolation facility will be monitored by medical personnel.

Last, patients who are cured and free of COVID-19 will be brought back home and will be accompanied by a medical personnel.

Based on the most recent record of the City Health Office, it has recorded an increase of four individuals affected by the virus. The number of affected patients is now 137, from the previous 133 persons last April 27.

The five barangays with highest number of individuals affected with the virus are Talon Dos with 20, Pamplona Dos with 16, BF International/CAA with 11, and Pamplona Tres and Pulanglupa Dos, both with 10.
